Lens Burning Fire Starter Kit - Includes Glass Magnifying Lens, Char Cloth & Tin

This burning lens fire-starting kit is a great addition to your Bushcraft kit or survival/emergency preparedness bag. When sunshine is available it makes a great primary or back-up fire starter so you can conserve your other more limited resources like lighters, matches, and ferro rods. Within seconds of concentrating the suns rays through the glass, and ember will ignite on a small section of char cloth (included) that can be used to then light your larger tinder nest. The process takes a little practice at first, but once you understand the concept, it works like a charm. Although intended primarily as a fire-starting tool, it also comes in handy for plant identification or scat inspection when out on the trail.

Our kit features a 2-inch diameter, high quality optical glass lens with 8X magnification which is powerful enough to easily get an ember going within seconds on a sunny day regardless of the temperature. We include a 2" x 18" strip (36 sq/in)  of charcloth which is normally enough to light more than 20 fires. The lens and cloth come come packed in a handy metal tin for storage, and the glass lens has it's own small velvet drawstring bag to protect it from scratches or chips. To make things even better, the tin can be used to make more charcloth on your own in the future! A solar fire starter kit like this is easy to pack away for hiking or camping trips, and is a great emergency and survival tool that everyone should know how to use.
