Our emergency fire starter necklace features uses a small 5/16" diameter x 1-1/4" long "micro" ferro rod made from our special PyroStryke alloy that will produce a small showering of intense fire making sparks when struck with the attached steel striker. The neck lanyard features safety pop connectors and 40-inches of high-quality US 550 "Fish & Fire" paracord that features an internal strand of jute twine along with a strand of monofilament line. By stripping the lanyard you can utilize the jute as a a good fire making tinder in an emergency. Due to the small size of the rod, it's not intended or recommended as a primary fire-starting option, but its convenient, easy-to-carry features make it a great back up option when you're on the go.
