Our HexaLite Ferro Rod fire starter blanks are a whopping 1/2-inch diameter and the 6-sided hex shape gives you over 50% more striking area than a standard round fire rod. With a choice of either 4-inch or 6-inch length, these bare "blanks" allow you to create your own custom rod assembly by adding your own striker and lanyard. Each features a through hole on one end that a accommodates standard 550 paracord. Like all of our ferro firestarters, these blanks use our "PyroStryke" ferrocerium blend that when struck with the large easy to grip fire striker, throws a shower of super hot sparks on your tinder, making it easy to get fires started super fast, even in the worst weather conditions.
